Please vote!
I am officially nominating Ken Whitehead as The Coolest Guy on earth!
And for the sake of time, I'm gonna to go ahead and second that.
Sure, I get the fact that you probably don't know Ken. And you may be asking, 'What's the point of voting for Ken if he's the only guy in the contest?' Or...'What does Ken get if he wins?' Or...'How could he not win if he's the only one nominated?'
Those are all very good questions. You should be proud of them. But they're irrelevant.
You should vote for Ken because he deserves it. And what the heck, he gets a t-shirt if he wins. So if you have a moment, please click on the comment button and vote for Ken!
Thanks...

In loving memory...
I received the very sad news yesterday that my uncle passed away. Barry Allen Webb was my mother's younger brother and is survived by his lovely wife Sandy, daughter Melissa, and his two sisters and one brother.
A former marine, Barry packed a lot of life into his years. To name a few, he jumped out of airplanes and made crazy formations in the sky, studied maritime law at William & Mary, taught college, drove a semi, and could be seen sporting his over-long beard way before ZZ Top commandeered MTV in 80's. He was smart, funny, and had an awesome laugh. We're going to miss Barry a lot.
Please pray for his family. Thanks.

Today is my birthday...

It's my birthday too, yeah!
I'm not too old to receive cash in a card. And here's what I'm doing with it. Maybe you should too? Or at least check out the link. This is one of my all-time favorite examples of missional living.
And if you need a good laugh...I, along with my brother-in-law and a some guys from church are entering a triathlon. If you don't know me well, then you don't realize that swim like a refrigerator. I don't own a bike. And I hate running unless there's a ball involved. So you can imagine how much fun I'm going to have! (And yes, I have medical clearance...it's like triathlon on training wheels, not like the he-man stuff on TV.)
Since you, dear reader, are insisting I help you help me celebrate my birthday...(pretend groan)...I guess you could buy my book or tell someone else to, or maybe write a review on amazon? Or heck, you could just send me the cash...I do need to buy a bike after all. And a helmet. And some of those fancy shiny pants...Oh, and some flippers and a flotation device too.

News
I know this only applies to a teeny tiny batch of bloggers. So I'll be brief.
I'll be doing a book signing at the Borders in Franklin, TN on April 19th. It all starts around 2pm and I would love to see you there. For more info, click here.
And thank you!
(Oh, and there WILL be prizes too.)

Location, location, location...
There were at least a couple hundred people milling about the adjoining streets...and a couple of thousand waiting to get inside the Sommet Center. I will admit that not every one of them were looking up in awe.
But my kids did accost a couple of elderly German tourist ladies with, "That's my daddy's book!" (I admonished them to leave the nice ladies alone, then paid them each a quarter!!!)
Seriously, to anyone who's bought the book, read the book, checked it out of the library, reviewed it on amazon, and/or anyone who's taken the time to tell me what they thought about it (good or bad!)...thank you.
